What are the general admission criteria for NEDHSA services?

Please contact us for additional information. Following is general admission criteria:
For People with Developmental Disabilities:

  • You are a resident of one of the 12 parishes we serve.
  • You have a severe, chronic disability and/or traumatic brain injury that manifested before age 22.
  • You have a substantial developmental delay or specific congenital or acquired condition that occurred at birth through age nine (without support and services, there is a high probability later in life that may be considered to be a developmental disability).
  • You are enrolled in K-12 special education classes.

People in need of Mental Health or Addiction Services:

  • You are a resident of one of the 12 parishes we serve.
  • You are struggling with mental health issues, or you have received a diagnosis such as depression, bipolar disorder or anxiety disorder ranging from mild to severe.
  • You have a substance abuse issue, substance dependence or a severe personality disorder.
  • You have one or more mental health disorders that substantially interfere with your ability to carry out the primary aspects of daily living, such as self-care, household management, interpersonal relationships and performance in school or work.

Dr. Monteic A. Sizer serves as Executive Director of Northeast Delta Human Services Authority (Northeast Delta HSA). He joined the organization in May 2013 as its first Executive Director. He is uniquely qualified to advocate on behalf of citizens located in the twelve Northeast Delta HSA parishes he represents because he exemplifies how people can meet their greatest human potential based on accountability, integrity and a willingness to engage in their own lives.
