In the heart of Northeast Louisiana, we support persons with mental health, addiction disorders, and developmental disabilities. Every day, we work to transform this region into a beacon of hope, creativity, and positive change. We’ve been working towards making Northeast Louisiana a place where lives are improved and the community thrives, regardless of race, class, political ideology, or faith tradition.
My vision for Northeast Louisiana transcends traditional boundaries. I envision a region where truth, trust, innovation, and results drive positive change. My vision is not limited by societal “isms” but strives to overcome them, recognizing that they should never hinder progress towards a better future.
We must pursue measurable, improved regional population health outcomes and the reduction of negative social determinants of health. It’s about addressing the root causes of mental health issues and addiction, breaking the cycle of suffering, and nurturing a community that supports every individual’s journey to recovery.
One of the cornerstones of our mission this month has been our Recovery Day Celebration. It was more than just an event; it was a declaration of truth and regional aspiration. The Recovery Day Celebration represented a commitment to transparency and a call to action for the community. It served as a platform to share stories of recovery, break the stigma associated with addiction and mental health, and inspire collective efforts to make lasting change. Nearly 300 lives assembled, celebrated and walked away better.
My transformative vision for Northeast Louisiana is not just about addressing mental health and addiction issues but about reshaping the entire community. It’s about fostering trust, understanding, and unity among individuals from all walks of life. Through innovative approaches, commitment to truth, and a focus on measurable results, I will continue leading the charge toward a region where health and well-being are accessible to all and where creativity, diversity, and economic development flourish. As we celebrate recovery and look to the future, let us work together to create a brighter, healthier, and more compassionate Northeast Louisiana.
