When a mental health or substance use crisis happens, every minute matters.

Through the Region 8 Mobile Crisis Partnership, Northeast Delta Human Services Authority (NEDHSA) is working with Growing Hope Recovery to help bring immediate, compassionate crisis services directly to individuals and families across all 12 parishes of Northeast Louisiana.

Law enforcement or emergency room visits are not always the best response to someone experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Crisis response solutions connect people with trained crisis professionals who can respond where they are: at home, at work, at school or anywhere in the community.

The goal is simple: meet people in crisis with the right care, at the right time, in the right place.

Crisis Services Available Across Region 8 Mobile Crisis Response

Immediate, in-person support for people experiencing an active behavioral health crisis.

Mobile Crisis Response is designed for individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis who need immediate intervention and support.

A trained crisis team can respond directly to the individual’s location, providing face-to-face support in the community.

Mobile Crisis Response provides:

  • 24/7 crisis response
  • Face-to-face response typically within 1 hour in urban areas and 2 hours in rural areas
  • Crisis de-escalation and stabilization
  • Safety assessment and safety planning
  • Connection to appropriate behavioral health and community resources
  • An alternative to unnecessary emergency room visits, hospitalization or law enforcement involvement when appropriate

You don’t have to wait for a crisis to become an emergency before asking for help.

Connecting You to Help

The Region 8 Mobile Crisis Partnership works in coordination with the Louisiana Crisis Hub, the statewide crisis dispatch system that connects individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis with the appropriate Mobile Crisis Response team.

When a crisis call originates in Region 8, the Crisis Hub can connect the individual with the regional response system so trained professionals can be dispatched to provide assistance in the community.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, help is available.
