NE Delta HSA Executive Director Dr. Monteic A. Sizer Discusses Collaboration as Louisiana Housing Alliance Conference Panelist

Northeast Delta Human Services Authority (NE Delta HSA) Executive Director Dr. Monteic A. Sizer served as a panelist at the annual Louisiana Housing Alliance conference this week in Baton Rouge. The conference focused on “The Impact of Home” and effective community development through the integration of disciplines.

“I’d like to congratulate the leaders of the Louisiana Housing Alliance for hosting a wonderful and important conference,” said Dr. Sizer. “NE Delta HSA is committed to helping our region and its people receive needed services.”

At the conference, panelists shared best practices of collaboration and information about building sustainable partnerships in healthcare. The group also discussed facets of affordable healthcare and its financial implications, along with how to evaluate and design quality improvement systems.

“Collaboration and understanding where issues and opportunities intersect are key elements to developing not just housing, but creating true communities. All voices are critical – none are too small,” said Sidni Shorter, Deputy Director – Louisiana Housing Alliance. The conference raised discussion about how health, home and community are linked, and that the conditions in which we live, work and play have a significant impact on our health. Conference topics included how to build bridges between healthcare and the housing & development sectors.

“We are working diligently to integrate traditional mental health, developmental disability, prevention and addictive disorder services with housing and related supports to help meet the comprehensive needs of our clients,” said Dr. Sizer.

“We look forward to hosting the Delta Solutions Summit later this year,” said Dr. Sizer. “At this Summit, we are inviting Louisiana Housing Alliance leadership and additional organizations to come to our region and help us find real solutions to real and persistent problems. We will continue our collaborative efforts so that all of our citizens can have the opportunity to experience healthy, wholesome lives.”
