DeRon L. Talley, MBA

DeRon L. Talley, MBA serves as the public information director for Northeast Delta Human Services Authority (https://nedeltahsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/DD-Wheelchair-Services-Pic-1.jpg). In this role, Talley manages and directs the authority’s communications and external affairs efforts, serves as the authority’s main communications contact, serves as a key advisor to the executive director, and manages all public record requests.

Prior to joining https://nedeltahsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/DD-Wheelchair-Services-Pic-1.jpg, Talley served as the director of marketing and communications for the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC). At the LSBDC, he managed and directed the statewide marketing, media, and communications activities. He also maintained and monitored all digital components of the LSBDC such as social media platforms and websites, and also contributed media releases and other public-sought information.

During his time at the LSBDC, Talley created America’s Small Business Development Centers (America’s SBDC) Millennial Conference “Maximizing Millennial Minds,” and served as a member of America’s SBDC Marketing Committee. Using this platform, Talley was a speaker at America’s SBDC National Conference speaking on marketing topics and millennial generation topics.

Prior to joining the LSBDC in May of 2015, Talley served concurrently as the editor of two Ascension Parish newspapers, the Donaldsonville Chief and the Gonzales Weekly Citizen. As the Editor of the Donaldsonville Chief and Gonzales Weekly Citizen newspapers concurrently, he and his editorial team earned more than a dozen Louisiana Press Association awards, with Talley carrying the bulk of nine individual awards. Talley was the youngest and first black male to serve as the editor of both papers, being a role model for aspiring minority journalists.

Talley is the pastor of the St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church in West Monroe, La.; is a commissioner for Volunteer Louisiana; is a board of director for Northeast Louisiana Children’s Coalition; served as president of Twin Cities Rotary Ouachita Parish (2017-2018) and is a Paul Harris Fellow; and is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Ouachita and was selected as the Charles McDonald “Twice as Much Kindness Award.” 

Talley is a native of Folsom, La., a 2019 master of business administration (marketing) recipient from Louisiana State University-Shreveport, and a 2012 bachelor’s degree recipient in the field of mass communications from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM). He is married to Patience A. Talley, and they have one daughter Demi Lee.
