As the number of individuals in our region and across our state who are affected by the COVID19 pandemic increases, it is easy to become discouraged and overwhelmed. I am reaching out to encourage you not to let yourself lose hope but instead to arm yourself with facts and the necessary resources to become empowered.
In times of crisis, we realize that many in our region look to Northeast Delta Human Services Authority as a trusted resource for credible information, evidence-based services, and guidance. During this critical time, those of you who count on us must know that we will be here for you, providing you with the tools, resources, and encouragement you need to stay informed, safe, and prepared for our upcoming recovery efforts. We will journey together.
“Like the phoenix that represents our agency, the people of this region will rise from the ashes of this pandemic with a renewed perspective on life and the courage to continue marching forward,” said Dr. Monteic A. Sizer.
To this end, our agency has created a dedicated Coronavirus (COVID-19) information page on our website to keep citizens of northeast Louisiana apprised of our active response to this pandemic. This page will be updated daily as new information and recommendations become available. You can access the information page by clicking here or by simply clicking on the coronavirus image above.
In addition to sharing the most essential and up-to-date information, the page will function as a behavioral health resource, offering guides, tips, and fact sheets associated with the latest COVID-19 recommendations. The website will also contain information such as proper handwashing techniques, social distancing, and COVID-19 frequently asked questions.
As we move from response to recovery, we are developing innovative ways to provide personalized outreach to citizens in our region. We will engage faith-based communities in these new outreach efforts as part of our Faith Partnership Initiative, connecting them with those who need to hear words of comfort and understanding during this difficult time. We know that faith can offset hopelessness, and with coordinated resources, we will be able to help our region recover and create a better tomorrow. This new tomorrow is one based on opportunities for all and partialities shown to none. It’s one where we care for our neighbors and those who are most vulnerable in our region. It’s one where we say we are proud to be from northeast Louisiana.
Remember, like the phoenix that represents our agency, the people of this region will rise from the ashes of this pandemic with a renewed perspective on life and the courage to continue marching forward. And Northeast Delta HSA will be marching right beside you.
