Wellness & Prevention Services Director

Avius Zimmerman

Avius oversees regional programs aimed at reducing social determinants to healthcare and promote healthy living through our innovative integrated healthcare network and services. She develops practices and policies that support collaborative efforts across our 12-parish region.

Avius has served as the region’s Strategic Planning Coordinator, where she built coalitions to address and change policies in regard to underage drinking and prescription pill use. She was awarded the Regional Prevention Specialist of the Year award for her work as a licensed prevention professional. Zimmerman's professional experiences include substance abuse prevention (6 years), research and development management and Compliance Director for NE Delta HSA.

Avius holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Arts degree from Grambling State University. She is a Doctoral candidate in Public Health at Jackson State University.
